Companion Animal Hospital is excited to announce that we will be offering a weekly Puppy Playgroup for puppies ages 8-20 weeks. The playgroup is open to all clients and non-clients.
The goal of our playgroup is to offer you a safe, controlled environment in which to socialize your new puppy while also creating a positive experience for future veterinarian visits, teaching appropriate puppy-to-puppy introduction/interaction, exposing your puppy to various people, objects and experiences, building a network of people who are experiencing the same “growing pains” as you may be, answering any of your current, pressing puppy-raising questions and ultimately, forming a strong bond between you and your new furry bundle of joy.
We are thrilled to have Carie Grant, KPA-CTP, owner of Denver Dream Dog, supervising these playgroups. A staff member from our clinic will be in attendance to not only be Carie’s assistant but to also simply spend some time enjoying the silly antics of the puppies.
How old does my puppy need to be?
This class is designed for puppies 8-20 weeks of age.
What vaccinations does my puppy need to have?
Written proof of current age-appropriate vaccinations is required.
Why is there an age requirement?
Eight to sixteen weeks of age is the primary development phase for puppies when they most easily learn. This is also a critical socialization period for your puppy.
What are the benefits my puppy and I will gain from coming to class?
- The class provides an opportunity for your puppy to experience other puppies and new people, places, and things in a safe, controlled environment
- Graduates tend to love coming to the hospital for routine visits and typically don’t display the anxiety other dogs may exhibit when exposed to the sights and sounds of the veterinary hospital
When is Puppy Playgroup?
- Playgroups are held at Companion Animal Hospital nights from 6:30-7:0 pm
How much does puppy class cost?
$5/class or $20/unlimited
